My two sons enjoyed their formative years at Florence Sawyer School, our beloved K-8 institution in Bolton, Massachusetts. A lovely tradition at the school involves 8th graders creating a class mural and parents collaborating on a special art project to express gratitude for the enriching educational journey. When my youngest son reached this milestone, I happily accepted the invitation to lead the parent gift project. So I created one of my metal trees, hand-cut out of steel, for the school hallway. Each 8th grader added their unique touch by painting a leaf, adding their name, transforming the tree into a tapestry of color, whimsy, and happy memories.
