My journey into metal sculpture began in 2008 with a discarded shovel. In my ‘Welding for Artists’ class, I discovered the transformative power of metal, cutting a whimsical face within the weathered shovel. This sparked an enduring fascination with repurposing discarded objects. I now incorporate discarded saws, condemned propane tanks, and any other steel treasures I can find into my work. Once these tools and vessels have fulfilled their original purpose, I’m delighted to offer them a second life as art, breathing new life into their forgotten forms.
